The Poilievre Campaign — March-April 2025

On January 6, 2025, former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced he would resign as Liberal leader and Prime Minister of Canada by March 24th, once a new party leader was elected. Mark Carney was elected leader of the Liberal Party and ultimately won the federal election on April 28th.
Pierre Poilievre, leader of Canada's Conservative Party, was also in the running. He became known as a more secretive candidate and did not allow press to travel with him on his campaign bus.
In a time of economic uncertainty and anti-incumbency, Mr. Poilievre was polling as the likely winner. Then Prime Minister Mark Carney became Liberal leader and everything changed.
This is a brief look at Mr. Poilievre's attempts on the campaign trail to make gains in the Greater Toronto Area, in his quest for the job of Prime Minister of Canada.
